Welcome to the official website of the Penn ADRD Trajectories, Copathology, and Heterogeneity (PATCH) Lab at the University of Pennsylvania.

PATCH Lab lies at the intersection of clinical neurodegenerative disease research and computational neuroimaging methods. Our mission is to develop biomarkers that can shed light on heterogeneity of Alzheimer’s and related neurodegenerative diseases, accurately track disease progression and treatment response, and, ultimately, support personalized medicine for neurodegenerative disease. PATCH Lab members share a strong committment to responsible open science and development of open-source scientific software.

PATCH Lab was officially formed in 2025, but the close collaboration between its founding faculty members goes back to the mid-2000s. We are a dynamic group of Ph.D. students, postdocs, research scientists, and faculty. We have close collaborations with many programs, labs, departments, and centers at Penn, including the Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration Center, Penn Image Computing and Science Laboratory, Neuroscience and Bioengineering Graduate Groups, and Departments of Neurology, Radiology, and Pathology.
